Whether you are ready or not, the AI era has already arrived, and its impact on society is far beyond everyone's imagination. What kind of abilities do we need to meet future challenges?

1. Healthy body, both physically and mentally

The early childhood stage is when people develop the fastest. Strengthening the physical fitness of children and cultivating the habit of loving sports will lay the foundation for children's lifelong health. In addition, mental health is extremely crucial, and early positive and happy experiences are also the basis of good mental health.

2. Good character and strong abilities

Good character is the foundation of being a person in the cultivation of people. There is no shortage of smart people in society, and people who can have a positive impact in society with excellent moral character. Strong abilities include many aspects, such as independence, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, communication and cooperation ability, etc., which are indispensable in the future society.

3. Imagination and creativity

There are many uncertainties in the future of the AI intelligence era, such as the disappearance of traditional occupations and the emergence of new occupations beyond our imagination. Only creativity is the ability to make oneself more competitive in the future The early childhood stage is the critical period for the development of creativity. Appropriate education can stimulate the creativity of young children, while inappropriate education will kill the creativity of children.

4. Aesthetic ability

Beauty is an invisible advantage in competition. In the era of AI, technology can solve many manpower problems. Human beings will pay more attention to the cultivation of humanistic qualities and pursue spiritual enjoyment. An eye for beauty is the greatest gift for children.

Combining the above aspects, how does The Starry Way cultivate children's abilities in these aspects?

1. Minimally 1-hour outdoor time everyday

Ensure the daily outdoor activity time for young children and cultivate the physical development of young children in all aspects.

The WHO's "Guidelines on Physical Activity, Sedentary Behavior and Sleep for Children Under 5 Years Old" proposes that young children should have no less than 180 minutes of physical activity every day, which is the basic requirement for ensuring children's physical health.

We insist on 1 hour of outdoor activities every day, and the children's physical fitness in all aspects has made great progress. In addition, in terms of mental health, we also attach importance to children's emotional education. We also know that children's literature and art are children's spiritual food, and games are children's language. Let children grow up happily every day and provide rich nutrients for children's psychological growth.

2. Character-building as core of education

The formation of children's morality comes from the cultivation of good habits. We focus on cultivating children's independence, politeness, cooperation and other habits in children's daily lives, and infiltrate the cultivation of habits in each theme and program teaching. For example, in the N2's Bus Project, we cultivate children to understand the rules of taking the bus and how to be a polite passenger? We do not teach children to know the knowledge of the bus, but lead children to discover relevant knowledge by observing the bus in person. For example, the internal structure of the bus and its purpose, cultivate children's critical thinking, self-learning and problem-solving abilities.

In the PG’s nature theme, we educate children to love nature and small animals. In the Kindergarten's restaurant project, we cultivate children's healthy eating habits, etc. We adopt a child-centered open education concept, and the core of its curriculum is a course with children as the theme and ability training as the core.

3. Integrating cultivation of creativity

We integrate the cultivation of creativity in all fields. For example, create various opportunities to solve problems in the course, such as how do we make a bus? Develop creativity in art, such as the creative body expression in music and rhythm, creative expression in art, etc.

In daily life, teachers also make children become problem solvers rather than teachers. Teachers wait patiently to give guidance to children and encourage them to creatively solve various problems they encounter.

4. Cultivating aesthetic abilities through curriculum and environment

We actively create a beautiful learning and living environment so that beauty can be seen everywhere. We cooperate with ART Loft, a well-known children's art institution in Singapore, to fully cultivate children's art ability through teaching, learning areas and art appreciation in art galleries.

In terms of music and movement, the founder herself is a lecturer in music and movement at the National Institute of Early Childhood Education. We integrate music and rhythm into daily morning activities and teaching, so that art can be integrated into life. At the same time, we often invite art performers to the kindergarten to perform musical instruments with children at close range, explore music, and broaden children's musical horizons.

Nobel Prize winners unanimously recognise that preschool education is the most important school in their lives, and childhood determines the future. A different childhood, a different future. We hope that all the children in The Starry Way can prepare these abilities here and face future challenges with confidence.
